The Bissell Quicksteamer Multi Surface 17701 carpet cleaner is a great upright entry level cleaner. It is listed at a decent price for anyone who wants an upright cleaner and you are on a tight budget. I actually own this particular cleaner as well. I got it a couple of years ago on Craigslist and have used it a couple of times at home. So, I fully understand all of its bells and whistles.

Even though I have had the Quicksteamer for several years now, I still use in every now and then because it is very lightweight. However, I primarily using the Hoover SteamVac due to the increased functionality available (like the handheld tools and brushes, and the powered brushes).

However, I also allow my friends to borrow the Quicksteamer from time to time when they have a room to clean (Sorry, but no one can get my Hoover . It  fits in their car just fine and they can easily do their cleaning job. Outside of being lightweight, the Bissell Quicksteamer Multi Surface 17701 does have some other great features as well that may be ideal for you.

The Bissell Quicksteamer Multi Surface 17701 includes 6 rows of Cross Action brushes to scrub against  stains and lift dirt. These are included underneath the base of the unit. Please note the brush does not automatically rotate on its own. It will require that you move the cleaner back and forth to activate them.

The CrossAction brush can easily be removed from the base to clean any dirt or hair that gets stuck. Please note that after each use, the brush should be removed and rinsed off to get rid of remaining residue.

The Bissell Quicksteamer works great for cleaning rugs, spots and spills, and even high traffic areas. The cleaner supports a 9 inch area that can be cleaned when pushing the unit forth. There is a spray trigger found on the handle that can be used for you to apply the detergent mix to your carpet as you are cleaning.

The Quicksteamer does include suction to lift up the dirt from your floors. Not only does it support carpet, but the Quicksteamer can also support bare floors as well. You will really be surprised at how much dirt can be picked up by this little green carpet cleaner.

The Quicksteamer supports a 75 oz tank for holding your solution and the hot water (i.e. detergent mix). There is a fill line to indicate how much solution should be added. There is another fill line to indicate how much hot water to add to the solution. The cleaner does not have a heater to keep the water warm so you will need to ensure that you add hot water to your unit so that cleaning can be done more effectively.

The dirty water collection area is found on the base of the unit and can easily be accessed for removal.

The Bissell Quicksteamer Multi Surface 17701 carpet cleaner supports a separate hard floor cleaning tool for use on hard floors, like linoleum and tile. This is an optional feature for this unit that can be purchased separately. Please note that there is no separate attachment to support cleaning upholstery or draperies. Additionally, there is not a brush nozzle that can be attached to manually clean a targeted stain.

The Quicksteamer includes the following components. To assemble, you will only need a Phillips screwdriver (3 screws included).

The Bissell Quicksteamer Multi Surface 17701 cleaner supports multiple cleansing solutions given your needs.
